About Ariel

Ariel Thiermann, M.A. is a singer, songwriter, performer, and the founder of get vocal coaching.  For over a decade Ariel has coached people from all walks of life in the discovery of their voice and the unleashing of their inner artist. A performer since the age of 7, Ariel grew up singing for thousands of families around the country alongside her mom, children's folk singer, Linda Arnold. As a teenager she performed with the award winning a cappella trio, Mayim and went on to create her own solo music, releasing five albums spanning 15 years of her work as a musician. Today, Ariel uses her voice as an instrument, exploring its full tonal, timbral and textural range. She explores singing, vocal improvisation, and songwriting as tools for greater balance and vitality in her own life and the lives of others.

How was Get Vocal Coaching born?

After years of witnessing the positive effects that singing was having on her students lives, Ariel became more and more curious about the interwoven links between voice and sense of self. Ariel completed her M.A. in Counseling Psychology and created Get Vocal Coaching. Get Vocal Coaching offers a fusion of vocal empowerment techniques mixed with depth psychology and expressive arts therapy to create a powerful and transformative experience for her clients.

"My mission is to support people to reclaim their voices and to feel empowered creatively. The voice is a bridge to our inner world and one of our most powerful tools for creative expression.  Each time a person gets vocal and dares to be witnessed, they give another the courage and permission to rise into song. As Khalil Gibran reminded us, we each have a voice and using it is our birthright." "You can muffle the drum, and you can loosen the strings of the lyre, but who shall command the skylark not to sing?”
